Maria Luisa Sette
Athletic Trainer
Maria Luisa Sette was born in Rome, on March 3rd, 1990. She started to play tennis when she was 7 years old and started competing at 15, in Giampaolo Coppo’s school. She studied in Rome, attending classes at university and getting the FIT Trainer 1 and Athletic Director qualification. She was only 19 years old when she started working as Athletical Trainer in Gianluca Persello, Matteo Modonesi e Pietro Angelini’s Tennis School. This experience ended in 2018, when she decided to join Rome Tennis Academy’s ambitious project. In the meantime, she graduated in Sports Science and specialized in Preventive and Adjusted Physical Activity with highest grade.
Since 2015 she has been working for Coni (Italian National Olympic Committee) Medicine and Sports Science Institute on a research project concerning recovery cardiology and sports therapy; moreover, she had different rehabilitation jobs, helping athletes to recover from injuries. She specialized also in holistic medicine, particularly in pilates. She worked with several international coaches, such as Giampaolo Coppo, Marco Panichi, Claudio Pujia and Carlo Ragalzi. She says about herself: “Tennis is my passion, it’s the starting point for both my career and my studies. I am really happy to contribute to Rome Tennis Academy’s project with my experience”.
